This accommodation is in the North York Moors National Park. A beautiful traditional stone-built cottage just north of the village of Osmotherley, on the western edge of the North York Moors in the shadow of Black Hambleton.
It starred in the Christmas Special of Mortimer & Whitehouse, Gone Fishing Christmas Special, season 2, which is still available on BBC iPlayer.


Chequers Cottage is exquisite with exposed wooden beams and flag stone floors, furnished to the highest standard. It also offers a wood-burning stove for use during the cooler months.
The kitchen and bathroom are modern and well-equipped.
There are two stunning en-suite bedrooms.
There are amazing views from the Hambleton hills, overlooking the Vale of Mowbray West towards the Yorkshire Dales.

If you are walking the Cleveland Way, this is the perfect stop, as the path goes right past the front door.
Whether for a coffee, cold drink, sandwich, or pizza, they can cater to you in their cafe.
Being approximately 13 miles from Helmsley, it could also be perfect for your first overnight stop, either lavish rooms or camping, if you are backpacking.
